CHATSWORTH, Calif, Sept. 14, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Capstone Turbine Corporation (www.capstoneturbine.com) (Nasdaq:CPST), the world's leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, today announced that it has received Underwriters Laboratories (UL) certification for its C200 MicroTurbine product in accordance with UL 2200 and UL 1741.

"Receiving the UL certification allows us to sell the C200 product in the United States," said Jim Crouse, Capstone's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We have had great success selling the product outside of our home market. We hope that we can now enjoy the same success in the U.S."

"We are pleased to have reached this significant milestone with the new C200 product," said Darren Jamison, Capstone's President and Chief Executive Officer.
