Capstone Turbine Names BIOplus Systems BV Its Distributor in the Netherlands and Denmark

CHATSWORTH, Calif., June 17, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Capstone Turbine Corporation (www.capstoneturbine.com) (Nasdaq:CPST), the world's leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, has named BIOplus Systems BV its distributor in the Netherlands and Denmark.

As a Capstone distributor, BIOplus Systems BV will sell and service low-emission Capstone microturbines and turbines for a variety of Dutch and Danish business sectors, including: hospitality, residential, education, health care, offices, retail, recreation, landfill, wastewater treatment plants, agriculture/biogas, data center, industrial, telecom and government.

Headquartered in Enschede, Netherlands, BIOplus Systems BV has sold complete energy-converting systems since 2004. Capstone microturbines will be used in combination with BIOplus Systems BV's BIOfuel Converter(TM), which allows gas turbines to run on various biofuels. The converter takes liquid and gaseous biofuels, such as refined animal fat, refined vegetable fat and pyrolysis oil from wood or car tires, and converts them to fuel that the microturbines use to create electricity alone or in combined heat and power applications.

The Dutch and Danish are leading innovators in developing alternative, sustainable and clean energy. Denmark has the lowest energy consumption per unit of gross domestic product in the European Union. According to the Netherlands' Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment, the Dutch government has introduced climate and energy goals for 2020 to become among the world's cleanest and most efficient energy countries.

"The Netherlands and Denmark are progressive countries, especially in the area of energy and responding to the global climate crisis," said Jim Crouse, Capstone Turbine's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Capstone microturbines are a clean-and-green answer to the world's growing concerns about pollution and the impact of greenhouse gasses."

"Capstone technology is forward thinking because it combines low emissions and maintenance with high reliability," said Klaas Klifman, BIOplus Systems BV President and Owner. "All BIOplus employees are extremely proud to represent and sell Capstone's products. I'm confident our potential clients and customers will become as enthusiastic about Capstone products as we are once they learn about the significant impact microturbine technology can have on lowering energy costs, especially in combined heat and power applications."
