Capstone Turbine Corporation Names Kanamoto Its Distributor in Japan for Agricultural and Biogas Applications

CHATSWORTH, Calif., April 7, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Capstone Turbine Corporation (www.capstoneturbine.com) (Nasdaq:CPST), the world's leading clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems, has named Kanamoto Ltd as its distributor in Japan for agricultural and biogas applications.

Established in 1964, Kanamoto is a leader in Japan's construction rental equipment, steel sales and information products industries. The company also has a number of consolidated and non-consolidated subsidiaries in such sectors as engineering, building construction and tool rental. Kanamoto is publicly traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

As a Capstone distributor, Kanamoto will sell and service low-emission Capstone microturbines for agricultural and biogas applications, including wastewater treatment plants and landfills. Capstone turbines and microturbines are ideal for businesses that produce large amounts of waste methane gas or simply are looking for a more renewable source of power. Capstone products run on a variety of fuel types, including methane, natural gas, diesel and biodiesel.

"We've always been impressed with Kanamoto because of its strong focus on customer service and its knowledge about Capstone products," said Jim Crouse, Capstone's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Several years ago, Kanamoto was a primary shareholder in a Capstone distributor promoting and selling microturbines throughout Japan. Those reliable microturbines continue to operate today. Now, Kanamoto will be our sole distributor selling to Japan's agricultural and biogas sectors and providing its renowned customer service and after-market support to its customers."
