6. Accrued Warranty Reserve During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017, the Company recorded a one-time non-cash warranty provision of approximately $5.2 million to retrofit proactively selected non-Signature Series C200 microturbines with the more robust new Signature Series generator components to improve product performance and reliability. The balance of this reliability repair program as of March 31, 2017 was $2.2 million. Changes in the accrued warranty reserve are as follows as of March 31, 2017 and 2016 (in thousands):
